Comments: Designing and modifying the layout was a significant part of this assignment. There were five main elements that needed to be on the fact sheet (photo, overview, features, detailed specs, customer quotes) and appear as a unified whole. I decided to go with a 2-column layout on the front and a 3-column layout on the back because it best showcased the content I deemed most important (photo, overview, detailed specs) while still including the other information in side bars. Despite having different amounts of columns, the two pages go well together because they use identical grid positioning for elements common to both. Other layouts were considered, like having the same 1-, 2-, or 3- column layout on both sides, but these designs did not emphasize the important content effectively, and consequently would be less useful to consumers considering the CLIE product.
